There is no need to roll down the foam before inserting in ears. Simply pinch the insertion stem between fingers and push to fit, which keeps the tip going into the ears clean even if hands are somewhat soiled with dirt, oil, grease, or some other contaminant. These earplugs have a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 30 dB, CSA Class AL. However, research suggests that many users will receive less noise reduction than indicated by the NRR due to variation in earplug fit, earplug fitting skill, and motivation of the user. It is recommended that the NRR be reduced by 50% to better estimate typical workplace protection. These earplugs are test compatible with the 3M E-A-Rfit Validation System.
